In huiuscemodi [di]sensu Romani solent non solum praeteritis im­perfectis sed etiam perfectis uti pro praesentibus vel futuris tam subiunctivis quam indicativis. Vergilius in I Aeneidos: certe hinc 5Romanos olim volventibus annis / hinc fore ductores revocato a sanguine Teucri, / qui mare, qui terras omni dicione tenerent / pollicitus, tenerent κατέχοιεν. Idem in eodem: cum venit, au­laeis iam se regina superbis / aurea composuit sponda. Cicero in Verrinarum I: non enim illud peto quod soleo, cum vehemen­tius contendi, impetrare, reus ut absolvatur.
