More shapes for a, in Uncial form, in cursive form like double cc; f and p with very long shafts under the baseline; as secondary initial N in Capital form with central trait placed on the base line. Narrow high ligatures of ct and st. Usual employment of et ligature. Greek traced like majuscule Greek letters or like minuscule and majuscule Latin letters.

D (ff. 63r-71v) Caroline of Corbie: rounded and regular minuscule, vertical and fairly elegant. A in three forms: Uncial, minuscule and open as double cc; g in the form of a 3 with a open loop at the bottom; some cursive ligatures, like the one of r (high ligature between r and t); or ligature with r in form of 2.
Regular abbreviations: Regular abbreviation for nasal letter, with a stroke, for et and for per, pro and prae; que is abbreviated to q.

E (ff. 71r-91r) French Caroline, rounded and vertical, but not particularly elegant. The writing trace is very tiny and the shafts of b, d, h and l are clubbed at the top. g presents a stroke on the right that is useful for linking it with the following letter, and it has a tail that sweeps in a curve. Among ligatures, those of st and et are frequent. A characteristic Capital and large n appear in minuscule writing, both in the main text and in the commentary.
Regular abbreviations: Regular abbreviation: the ae diphthong is abbreviated with a cedilla; quod like qd plus the trait on the shaft of d.

Init (f. 1r) The text is introduced by a red Q with a double outline filled with blue and orange interlaces and four rossette; the tail of the letter has a foliate form.

Provenance(s):
All parts of the manuscript belonged to the Corbie Abbey. This probably is one of the so called Prisciani tres imperfecti or Prisciani tres integri quoted in the librarian's catalogue of the monastery dated to the 12^th century. In the 16^th century the humanist Claude Dupuy bought this book (on the upper margin of f. 1r there is the ancient signature Cl. Puteani), that in 1657, after the death of Jacques Dupuy, son of Claude, was acquired by the Bibliothèque Royale. It is highly probable that the second unit of this codex was the initial part of the Par. Lat. 7501: indeed, at the end of Priscian's Periegesis there are two accessus to the Ars, written by the main annotators of this latter witness (X and W1).
