Vel. orth. 6, 8 - 8, 2, 2
13quibusdam partibus orationis plena praeponi ‘d’ litteram
17semper, siquidem ‘reddere’ dicimus geminata ‘d’, ‘reducere’
18‹autem› simplici utimur. Unde adnotanda imperitia eorum qui
19sic ‘redducere’ geminata ‘d’ littera volunt enuntiare, quasi ‘reddere’,
20tamquam necesse sit totiens eam duplicem esse, quotiens
21sequens vox ab eadem littera incipit.
1‘Trans’ quoque praepositio non nullam habet obseruationem.
2Nam interdum plena est, ut ‘transtulit’, interdum minuitur,
3ut ‘trai‹e›cit, traduxit’.
6, 5et ‘tramisit’, alii ‘transposuit’, alii ‘traposuit’.
7scribit cum id quod dicatur κεχάρισται. In ὀρθογραφίᾳ eo scrupulosior
15et geminata ‘u’ diversa potestate ponitur. Sic rursus cum
16scribitur ‘nominativus, genetivus’ et omnes deinde casus, item
17‘primitivus’, et siqua his nomina similia sunt, eandem| observationem
18habebunt; et illam scriptionem, qua ‘nominativus’ ‘v’ et
19‘o’ littera notabatur, relinquemus antiquis.
1Varie etiam scriptitatum est ‘mancupium, aucupium,
2manubiae’, siquidem C. Caesar per ‘i’ scripsit, ut apparet
3ex titulis ipsius, at Augustus [i] per ‘u’, ut testes sunt eius inscriptiones.
4Et qui per ‘i’ scribunt ‹‘manibias’›, illam rationem
8, 5secuntur, quod aliae quoque denominationes per eandem litteram
6exeant, ut cum ‘manicas’ ‹dicimus et› ‘maniculam’, quibus
7tamen opponi potest, quod per ‘u’ ‘manuleum’ dicimus. Item qui
8‘aucupium’ per ‘u’ scribunt, putant ab ‘ave occupanda’ dictum;
9a[u]t qui[a] ‘aucipium’, ab ‘ave capienda’, cum ‘a’ litterae in ‘i’ familiaris
15per ‘i’ litteram, has proferat uoces.
16quod ‘disting[u]ere’ e‹s›t interposito puncto diuidere
17atque diducere.
18dictum παρὰ τὸ ‘τέγγειν’, siue quod ‘disting[u]atur’ res
Mihi videtur nimis
6rusticana enuntiatio futura, si per ‘u’ extulerimus. Ita tamen existimo
7enuntiandum, ut nec nimis ‘i’ littera exilis sit nec, ‘u’ litteram
8‹si› scripseris, enuntiationis sono ‘u’ nimis plena. Ac
9meminerimus artis ὀρθοεπείας esse ut, siue ha[e]c siue illa littera
10scripseris, enuntiationis sonum temperet.
9Idem puto et in ‘clipeo’ per ‘i’ scripto obseruandum,
8, 10nec audiendam uanam grammaticorum differentiam, qui
11alterum a ‘clependo’, ‹alterum a ‘cluendo’› putant dictum.
Inseruit, ut in his: ‘vehemens’ ‘reprehendit’,
15cum elegantiores et ‘vementem’ dicant et ‘repre[he]ndit’
16secundum primam positionem; ‘prendo’ enim dicimus, non
17‘prehendo’.
20dictam, quod ‘alas’ nobis in‹i›ecta contineat.
20‘Hortus’ quoque non desiderabat a‹d›spirationem,
21quod ibi herbae ‘oriantur’, id est| nascantur; sed tamen a consuetudine
22accepit.
24ut ‘cohortes militum’ cum adspiratione a mutua ‘hortatione’
25dicantur.
